Yesterday Maia and I went out to tea (sadly, there is no tea at Trinity on the weekend). We went searching, and came across and herbal shop, which I felt compelled to enter, so we did, buying dried lavender, soap, and a cute tea strainer. Also asked the woman there for a nice tea place, and she recommended the Rose on High Street. Wandered down High Street and just as we were about to give it up as a wild goose (or duck) chase, we found it.
Tea was lovely . . . we both had vanilla. It was amazing plain and even better with a teeny bit of cream, which really brought of the flavor. Had scones with clotted cream (gah!), strawberries, and homemade strawberry jam. So delicious. We've decided to make it a Sunday ritual (when we're not traveling on the weekends).
Saturday night, we did a lovely picnic in the University Park. Got pizza from a place that does take out (the real Italian kind of pizza, too) and brought it there. Sat on the bank and watched people punting. Very nice time.
Since I'm on the subject of food . . . Friday night we went out for Indian. Found a nice place (slightly too expensive; we're trying somewhere else next time) with really good food. Had some sort of lamb kabob, which was wonderful.
Saturday night stayed up late talking to Justin and Jane. Partially about spiritual stuff and partially just anything in general, having fun and letting the conversation flow.
Also spent a lot of time working on my essays. The Frankenstein one is wholly finished, edited and ready to be printed (which is good, since it's due today). My other essay, about Mrs. Dalloway and The Bell (by Iris Murdoch; I think she's a tad less known than Woolf *grin*). I'm comparing the symbol of the party in Woolf's to the symbols of the bell in Murdoch's. Both are, in a sense, an offering or sacrifice.
Today: Shopping (we're going hunting for sales--very tricky creatures)

Make sure you eat some clotted cream for me, hehe. I bought Mom bunches and bunches of tea for her birthday, but I'm a bad daughter, so it won't come until tomorrow.

CD prices--all prices--pretty much blow here. Only bargain I've got so far is the new Harry Potter book--10 pounds (=less than $20 for a hardcover book)
